About Us
KeepSakes by Design is a small independent photography service with an emphasis
on portriature, fine art, weddings, and restorations.  Our customers are motivated in
obtaining those priceless pictures that tell a story, capture a look, reveal an
essence, or deepen the enigma, now, and in the years to follow. Not just a snapshot,
but a KeepSake.

No other medium is a more important tool for perserving your story.  We cherish our
family photographs and as we grow older, so do their significance.  That's why we
try to give every customer that one image that evokes a comment, stirs an emotion
and begs for a lingering look.

Whether at your site, or in our studio, we place our time and talents at your disposal.  
We schedule by appontment only.  There is no line of people waiting for their turn and
no hot, busy parking lot to cross.  We want your experience to be relaxed and fun.  
Above all, we want you to love your images.  Unlike the mall venues, we tend to shoot
for more images, try more poses, and use light to paint rather than just illuminate.  
Unless we are producing a theme package, our sessions are very individualistic.  

In photographic design, starting with good image is half the battle.  In the halcion
days of film, the amount of required darkroom time was a very underappreciated
aspect of photography.  It is no less so with today's digital image.  We still brighten,
darken, burn, dodge, crop, rotate, retouch, tint, paint, clone, sharpen and blur (to
name just a few) images, but now with specialized software on a personal computer.
 To that end we believe we offer real expertise at high-end retouching, borders and
effects.

of experience in the world

corporations such as
Sears Portrait Studios,
Olin Mills, Van's
Photography, Camera
America and Denny's Mfg.  

Brian Barnhart has
worked as an
independent wedding and
event photographer after
learning the craft as a staff
photographer for his high
school and college alma
maters.

Together, thay have a
passionate interest in
creating vivid, unique, and
enduring photographic
impressions of people
and life.
